Rachel G Olive

Rachel is a passionate consumer strategist, with over 20 years of marketing experience across a multitude of industry categories and media platforms. She joined Sony Pictures Entertainment in 2008 and currently leads Sony Pictures theatrical advertising business in Canada. Her focus is driving innovation and high-value consumer engagement through media. Prior to this, Rachel spent eight years working in Toronto’s media industry, at Starcom Worldwide and OMD.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from York University, majoring in Mass Communications and Political Science, a diploma from Seneca College in Audio, Video, and Multimedia Production, and certificates in Business Administration (York’s School of Continuing Studies), and Entertainment Law (Osgood Hall). She is a graduate of the Counsel of Canadian Innovators inaugural Innovation Governance Program and a recent EMBA with the Quantic School of Business and Technology.

In addition to currently providing industry mentorship and coaching as part of the CMDC’s Women In Advertising and Tech community, and the forthcoming American Marketing Association Toronto Mentor Exchange Program, Rachel is the proud mother of her 12 year old daughter Paz, and a faithful and loyal companion to her 13-year-old miniature schnauzer, Gladys.
